Review Process

International Journal for Research in Health Sciences and Nursing (IJRHNS) follows a rigorous, transparent, and ethical peer review process in accordance with internationally recognized scholarly publishing standards and best practices adopted by leading Scopus-indexed journals. All submitted manuscripts undergo peer review prior to acceptance, and no article is published without evaluation by independent subject-matter experts.

Manuscript Submission

Authors submit manuscripts through the journal’s official submission system. Submissions must fall within the journal’s scope and comply with prescribed formatting, ethical guidelines, and publication policies.

Initial Editorial Screening

Upon submission, the editorial office conducts a preliminary assessment to evaluate:

  • Originality and relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Compliance with ethical standards
  • Methodological soundness
  • Linguistic clarity and presentation quality
  • Adherence to submission and formatting guidelines

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors for revision or rejected at this stage.

Assignment to Peer Reviewers

Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to one or more independent peer reviewers with relevant academic and research expertise. Reviewers are selected to ensure objectivity, subject competence, and absence of conflicts of interest.

Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:

  • Scientific and scholarly merit
  • Research originality and significance
  • Methodological rigor and ethical soundness
  • Clarity of presentation and structure
  • Contribution to the advancement of knowledge

Authors are encouraged to present results clearly. Supplementary materials not essential to the core content should be provided as appendices.

Editorial Decision

  • Accepted without revision
  • Accepted with minor revisions (no further external review required)
  • Major revisions required (subject to re-review)
  • Rejected

Revision and Author Response

Reviewer and editorial comments are shared with authors to facilitate manuscript improvement. Revised submissions must include a detailed point-by-point response explaining how each comment has been addressed or providing justified reasons for any deviations.

Final Evaluation and Acceptance

The Editor, and reviewers where necessary, reassess revised manuscripts to confirm that all concerns have been satisfactorily resolved before granting final acceptance.

Publication and Scheduling

Accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication in the appropriate issue. Submissions that are previously published, copyrighted, plagiarized, or under simultaneous consideration elsewhere are not eligible for publication.

Review Principles and Timeline

The peer review process is conducted in a fair, unbiased, and confidential manner, ensuring equal opportunity for all authors. Editorial decisions are based solely on academic quality, originality, relevance, and ethical compliance.

The editorial board is committed to maintaining an efficient review cycle. Under normal circumstances, the complete peer review process is completed within approximately two weeks, without compromising scholarly rigor.

Editorial Responsibility

The Editor-in-Chief holds final responsibility for maintaining academic consistency, ethical integrity, and overall quality throughout the publication process.
